This morning I logged onto digg.com and got the following message:

Are we going to see Digg Version 4 shortly? What new features can we expect?
Tags, better commenting system, new front page design or algorithm?

In Brajeshwar’s recent post the writer suggested that Mac users demo the new Firefox 3.0 Alpha 1. Having a Intel MacBook, and being a long time user of Firefox, I decided to give the Alpha version of Firefox 3.0 a spin (cue spinning Firefox logo). Upon install, there were two things that I noticed immediately.
From the moment I double clicked on the application, it took approximately .5 second longer than Firefox 2.0. Also switching between tabs took an extra millisecond longer and felt like it was working on a delay.
The clarity of the images was pretty noticeable. Upon viewing the Digg homepage, the clarity of the text and images was improved in Firefox 3.0 Alpha 1. It almost felt like I got a put in a fresh prescription of contact lenses. I have included screenshots of the Digg homepage in Firefox 2.0 and Firefox 3.0 Alpha 1 for your review. Also, upon request, here is a single image comparison between the two. The most noticeable difference is the radio buttons near the search bar in the top right.

In conclusion, the text and image clarity of Firefox 3.0 Alpha 1 is very promising however the lack of speed is hindering me from using it as my primary browser. I am excited for Firefox 3.0 final release, and I’m sure they will fix the speed issue.
After about 4 hours of Windows Movie Maker editing I was finally coming close to getting my movie done. I had been working since 7:00 am putting together a video for a 1:00 pm, 25th wedding aniversary lunch for my parents. That is, untill I recieved an error message that I have never seen before.
After calming myself I decided that I would have to submit to the Catastrophic failure because Windows wasn’t giving me any other choice. When I pressed OK, Windows Movie Maker crashed and crashed hard, in turn causing my whole machine to crash.
There is absolutely nothing in my event viewer about this crash, and it hasn’t happened since. And for those of you who care, I completed the movie compilation on the next reboot, only to have Windows Movie Maker crash again while attempting to render the movie as a .wmv. Finally, on the next restart of WMM the video rendered correctly.
I bet iMovie wouldn’t treat me like this…
This is a puppet that I was controlling in the Melbourne Zoo Gift Shop.
Remember when GMail announced that their free webmail service was going to have 1GB of storage for you to keep every single email that you ever received? Well, since that day there have been numerous other companies attempting to compete in the “Free WebMail +1GB” market. I got curious an wondered, who is still in the +1GB game now?
After some arduous research, I came up with 6 contenders.
Although services like Inbox and Walla!me have more storage than GMail and Yahoo! they don’t have the same quality programming behind both the GUI, spam filtering and other productivity enhancing features.
I know that some of you would beg to differ, but I believe whole heartedly that GMail is at the head of the “Free WebMail +1GB” market. And hey, I may be a little biased due to the fact that it’s my weapon of choice. Thanks AJAX and Google!

Current Issues
- Can’t watch any sort of video without it being jumpy.
- Genie maximization and minimization is slow and choppy.
- Dashboard is slow and choppy.
I dont know if these issues can be fixed, but it’s not a big deal as long as I have everything else running smoothly, including X11 and fink featuring APT! Thank God for them both.
If anyone knows the solution to any of these issues, please contact me.

This is the most rediculous video of Russian Ninjas climbing buildings and doing other death defying stunts with ease. This is definitely a must see, I couldn’t keep my eyes off of it for the entire 8 minutes…
A subsidiary of CNET Networks, Webshots has released a new service called AllYouCanUpload. This website allows you to easily upload images and resize them all with a quick and easy interface. It also provides links for popular methods of posting including MySpace, blogs, forums, IM services and IRC.
This service offers a great way to share screen shots, images of eBay items, or personal pictures. If you’re looking for an alternative to ImageShack because it’s always running out of bandwidth, or you just don’t feel like signing up for an account with Webshots or Flickr, then this is for you. It also allows you to upload up to 3 images at the same time.
Below, I demonstrate the steps (as if they need to be demonstrated.) Enjoy!
So, yesterday walking down the street I hear this woman across the street
from

Before I could finish, I saw a
out of corner of my eye and a slew of
hit me square in the face making me
.
On gaining my consciousness I yelled across the street, “what the $%

I suddenly remebered back to
at
that I just bought a dozen eggs and a
apple.
Alright, let’s not get
.
So then, I let out a war cry that sounded like an
woman getting her left breast chopped off. I hurl the
across the street, nailing the
right in the eye.
“I’m a

the cop, I bet I could claim self defense because I was defending

Or, for you
you could just
